Environmental protection

Maintaining a high level of environmental protection and, more generally, of the individuals' quality of life is the main goal of European environmental law. Our research in this field covers the integration principle which requires that any matter concerning the protection of the environment be taken into consideration in the definition and implementation of other EU policies and actions. It also covers the inverse phenomenon of integration of the protection of human rights in EU adaptation policies to climate change, as well as the balancing between environmental protection and fundamental liberties by European judges, but also biodiversity and the Common Agricultural Policy.
